Here is the lowdown and all the pics...
On my quest for more power, I decided nitrous was the best way to go for what I was after. When done properly, it is as safe and no more harmful to the engine than supercharging or turbocharging. I decided that a "wet" shot was best for my engine, meaning it injects both nitrous and fuel into my engine. I'm running a 75 shot now, but am going to try the 100 shot soon. So far, I'm loving the world of nitrous. I installed the kit myself (with some help from Jon and pops), and it took a good three days to do right. It could have been done faster, but being the perfectionist I am, and wanting to solder all the connections, it took a while. Here are the pics, let me know if you have ANY questions...

Nitrous Express Kit #20220
Here's the kit. I got it from John Stewart over at www.nitrouswarehouse.com . I went with the basic kit, plus the GenX2 package, which includes Automatic bottle heater, purge vavle, NHRA blowoff kit, Nitrous pressure gauge, and fuel pressure safety switch. I also upgraded to the 15lbs. bottle. All said, it was a little over for everything. |
15lbs. Bottle Installed
I decided to mount the bottle behind my seat... easy access... I was afraid that it might not fit, but it fits PERFECT. Also have the bottle heater, but it isn't in the picture. |

Solenoids
Here are the nitrous and fuel solenoids installed. I fabbed up some little brackets, and this seemed to be a good safe and easy to access place for them. Plus, the holes were already there for the bolts, so no more holes to drill to mount the brackets. |
Close up of Fuel Solenoid
This is the fuel solenoid, and the fuel pressure safety switch. The safety switch will disable the nitrous system if the fuel pressure drops, hopefully preventing any damage in the event of a fuel system failure.

Interior during my wiring adventure...
Here is a picture of what my interior looked like during the wiring process of my install. I had to find a switched power source for the system and run all the wires. I ended up soldering all the connections to hopefully prevent future wiring problems. |
Switches...
I wanted the switches to be out of the way, and decided to mount them in the ash tray. The switch on the left is the master arming switch, the one to the right of that is the bottle heater switch, and the red push button is for the purge.

WOT Micro-switch
This is the wide open throttle (WOT) switch. It is installed to only turn on when I floor it and go WOT. This will turn the nitrous on (assuming I have the master arming switch on), and does a great job of planting you in your seat... hold on... I decided to mount it under the dash, out of the way, instead of out at the throttle body itself. It works great down there, and I even managed to use factory bolts to install it.. |
